Good news

It’s been a busy few months. Of course we are all trying to do the best we can during an industry wide shut down, many of us are facing significant challenges, particularly with the Government support package missing most freelancers. The North East Cultural Partnership’s research suggest just 17% of North East freelancers are able to access support.

At every opportunity we're telling everyone who will listen about the power of freelancers, including:

  • Our ongoing regular chats with Arts Council are productive and they're delivering an advice session for the opening of Project Grants. Find out more here.

  • I have been accepted on to the Cultural Compact group who are leading on the culture vision for Newcastle.

  • We're in the process of setting up Tyne & Wear Cultural Freelancers as a CIC so we can do more, have greater impact and raise money to support the freelance cultural sector.

  • Laura Rothwell (Crystallised) joins as an additional Director for Tyne & Wear Cultural Freelancers.

  • We want to very quickly form a steering group, to make sure we relevant, sector-led and making a real difference to you. Sign up to the mailing list to stay informed on that.

We’re also now on Twitter, so give us a follow at @TWCFreelancers.
